Hartley Hall was a neglected Grade II former Methodist training college located in Whalley Range, our task over the 34 week contract was to sympathetically restore the semi derelict property to modern student accommodation.
The imposing complex was originally constructed in 1878 by the Primitive Methodist Church as a training centre for young preachers, religious training ceased in 1973 and Hartley Hall was subsequently used as halls of residence by the Royal Manchester College of Music (later to become the Royal Manchester Northern College of Music). In 1990 the buildings were acquired by the Manchester Islamic School Trust, however the original dormitory accommodation within the northern wing remained unused until 2010 when we were chosen as the Contractor to complete this sympathetic restoration.
